Every late March, Alpe d’Huez transforms. For one week, the high-altitude resort swaps the quiet of its slopes for the deep bass of Tomorrowland Winter, the mountain edition of the celebrated Belgian electronic music festival. Skiing in the morning, dancing in the afternoon with a panorama of snow-capped peaks in front of you: it is this rare combination that draws thousands of festival-goers from across Europe every year. The 2027 edition is confirmed — here is everything you need to prepare for it, and to enjoy it from Oz-en-Oisans with your whole group.
What is Tomorrowland Winter?
Tomorrowland began as a summer festival held in Belgium and has grown into a global reference for electronic music. Tomorrowland Winter is its mountain version: since 2019, the festival has set up its stages at Alpe d’Huez and turned the resort into a giant playground. The 2027 edition runs from 20 to 27 March 2027, across a full week — Saturday to Saturday, just like chalet rentals.
The principle is simple, and that is its whole appeal: a single trip combines skiing during the day with the festival in the afternoon and evening. The pass covers both the ski area and the stages, so the mountain becomes the slope and the concert hall at once. You get the polished visual universe that made Tomorrowland famous — sets, staging, elaborate scenography — transposed into an alpine setting.
Eight stages, from 1,800 to 3,330 metres
What makes Tomorrowland Winter unique is its geography. The festival spreads 8 stages across the slopes and the resort, at altitudes between 1,800 and 3,330 metres. Some are reached on skis, at the top of a chairlift; others sit in the heart of the resort.
This layout means the atmosphere changes throughout the day. A high-altitude stage gives you the feeling of dancing on the summit, facing the glaciers, while the resort stages carry the evening on in a more festive, urban mood. Good news for non-skiers: some stages are accessible on foot, so a group of mixed abilities can enjoy the festival together without everyone having to clip into skis.
A top-tier line-up
Musically, each edition of Tomorrowland Winter gathers more than 100 DJs. The line-up draws from the very top of the international electronic scene, with names that regularly appear on the bill such as Afrojack, Charlotte de Witte, Steve Aoki and Dimitri Vegas. Styles range from techno to big room to house — plenty to satisfy varied tastes within one group.
The bill is so dense that choices have to be made: several stages play in parallel. Scout the sets that matter to you in advance, and agree as a group on the moments not to miss. That is also part of the event’s charm: everyone can plot their own course through the resort.
Tickets and packages: the dates to remember
Good to know
Pre-registration is already open on the official Tomorrowland website, and the 7-day packages (festival pass + ski pass + partner accommodation) go on sale on 3 October 2026. In previous editions some categories sold out within hours: register ahead of time and be ready on the day.
If you arrange your own accommodation — in a chalet, for instance — you only need the festival pass + ski pass, sold separately from the accommodation packages. For an established group this is often the most comfortable formula: you choose your own roof, your own table and your own bedrooms, without depending on the resort’s hotel availability.
Why stay in Oz-en-Oisans
Oz-en-Oisans has one decisive advantage for Tomorrowland Winter: the village is connected to the Alpe d’Huez ski area by lifts, and you reach the resort in about ten minutes. You enjoy the event while staying away from the crowds, in a calmer, more authentic setting — ideal for recovering between two intense days. For everything about the village and its services, see the Oz-en-Oisans tourist office; and for the festival’s host resort, the Alpe d’Huez tourist office.
This is exactly the kind of stay where a large chalet makes complete sense: everyone sleeps under one roof, you gather in the evening to debrief the sets, share meals and plan the days together. For an event as collective as Tomorrowland Winter, the group experience makes a real difference compared with scattered accommodation.
The owners' tip
The festival week runs Saturday to Saturday — exactly like the chalet rental. Arrive on Saturday 20 March in the early afternoon: by the time you settle in and collect the passes, you are on the slopes from Sunday morning, ahead of the main crowds. And if you are coming up from the valley, the Eau d'Olle Express gondola from Allemond (free covered car park) avoids the mountain road on busy days.

Book early: the essential advice
If there is one rule to remember, it is this: book very early. Tomorrowland Winter draws a big crowd and accommodation near the ski area goes fast, often months before the event. The closer the date, the fewer the options — especially for large capacities such as a 16-guest chalet, highly sought after for this kind of trip with friends.
Before you go, make sure everything is locked in:
- Festival passes (+ ski passes) bought for the whole group
- Accommodation confirmed for the week of 20–27 March 2027
- Equipment reserved (rental available in Oz, 2 minutes from the chalet)
- Room allocation and budget per person agreed
- Travel organised — car sharing or train + shuttle, and the Eau d'Olle Express from Allemond
